Carl T’s introduction to music began his piano playing Jazz musician father and mother. By junior high school it was evident music ran through his vanes as he landed a spot in the school band with an alto sax solo in the song “Water Melon Man”. Recording and producing for Clarence Music Records in the late 70s and early 80s is where his music industry talents began to shine.

Mr. Smith has played keyboards, both in the studio and/or on stage, with many acts and legions. As a member of Questarr the original touring band for the group New Edition from 1983 through 1986, Bobby Brown 1987 through 1988 and had the opportunity to play with many acts including a few shows with Leon and The Peoples in 2017 and 2018.

He created and run his own recording, productions and record companies and works with local sound companies, Rios Entertainment and Dave Brown Sound, from 2015 to present doing everything from soup to nuts.

Also known as “The Smooth1” Mr. Smith also released his music on his label PlayDees Records, produces concerts featuring acts such as his and runs TSO Radio, an online radio stream featuring independent music all the time.
